Azrie 'Ed' Conn passed away on November 7, 2024 in Salt Lake City, UT at the age of 86 from pneumocystis pneumonia.
Azrie is survived by his son John of Las Vegas, NV; his daughter Melyssa Trnavskis (Boris) of North Salt Lake, UT; two grandsons Connor and Kurt Trnavskis of North Salt Lake, UT; sister Alma Kuntz of Parkton, NC; loving partner Joyce Annis of Easton, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Azrie was predeceased in death by his wife of 50 years, Victoria (Viki); his parents Allen and Dixie (nee Jarrell) Conn of Dana, KY; brothers Homer, Delmer, Ricky and Ted; and sisters, Dionia Reyna, Thelma Thacker, and Mavis Kranker.
Azrie was born and raised in Dana, KY. He moved to Michigan early in life and retired from Chevrolet after 35 years as a pipefitter. In his youth, Azrie enjoyed hunting, coaching his daughter's softball team for 8 years, watching Detroit Tigers baseball, and playing cards with friends and neighbors. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing for perch in Saginaw Bay, golfing, and playing casino games. In 2010, he and Viki moved to Las Vegas, NV to be closer to John. Azrie was proud to have earned 'top card' at the local casino and loved to treat others to its benefits such as free buffets and movies. That was just the nature of dad. He was extremely kind and thoughtful and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, KY with Barry Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Conn Cemetery, Akers Branch, Dana, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.
