Babette Ineatha Boston
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge will give me on that day, and not me only, but also to all who have loved His appearing." 2 Timothy 4: 7-8
Babette was born November 19, 1965, in Sumter, South Carolina, the third child of the late Reverend Benjamin Pleasant Boston, Sr. and Ineatha Gathers Boston. She departed this life for her eternal reward on February 20, 2024, at Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, South Carolina. She was truly the jokester of the family, always having laughter.
Her early years of Christian service began by serving as a pianist for many churches during her father's pastoral ministry. At the time of her passing, she was a member of the Antioch A.M.E. Church serving as Steward-Pro Tem, Missionary, Financial Secretary and Musician. Her passion was that of service to Christ working faithfully in the church doing whatever her hands found to do.
She was a graduate of Sumter High School Class of 1984 and The University of South Carolina Class of 1988, always a Gamecock. At the time of her passing she was employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Osfred R. Boston and Benjamin P. Boston, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her sister, M. Theophila Boston Murray (Alphonso) of Richmond, VA; sister-in-law Pamela Glover of Washington, DC; aunts, Henrietta Fields of North Charleston, SC, Dora Evans of Clinton, Mississippi; an uncle, Ernest Gathers (Osie) of North Charleston, SC; nieces, nephews and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

I am simply shocked and heartbroken. Just finding out today, February 27th, 2024 that Babette has gone to heaven to be with the Lord. Although we just met last year at our family reunion in NC, I fell in love with her warmth and bubbly personality. She fit right in with us and became our family too. It is with my deepest sympathy that we offer our condolences to my cousin Mattie and the rest of the family. To the family: May the Peace of God rule in your hearts today and always.
