Baby Shannon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home - Columbia on Jan. 19, 2026.
Xylo Saint Shannon was born on January 5, 2026, at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the cherished son of Jerica Washington and D'Angelo Shannon. From the moment of his arrival, Xylo brought love, hope, and light to all who awaited and surrounded him.

On Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Prisma Health Richland in the NICU, Xylo Saint Shannon was peacefully surrounded by love as his family shared their final goodbyes. Due to the severity of his condition, there was no medical resolution for the brain disease affecting him, along with the genetic disorder TUBB3. In His perfect will, God called Xylo home and wrapped him in eternal peace.

Although Xylo's time on earth was far shorter than anyone desired, his life had a profound impact on all who loved him. He will forever be remembered for the moments that filled our hearts with joy and laughter-how during ultrasounds he never let us see his face, always covering it or turning away, and how he would kick with all his strength when he was hungry, making sure he was noticed. Xylo truly blessed our hearts and left an everlasting imprint of love.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Isabella T. Woodruff; and Great Grandfather, John Shannon.

Xylo Saint Shannon is survived by his loving parents, Jerica Washington and D'Angelo Shannon. He is also survived by his grandparents: Bridgett (Demetrius) Kelly of West Columbia, SC; Crystal Miles of Blythewood, SC; and Percy Shannon of Ridgeway, SC. His great-grandparents include Anthony (Mildred) Washington of West Columbia, SC; Louise Miles of Blythewood, SC; Louis Miles Jr. of Blythewood, SC; and Ruthetta Shannon of Columbia, SC. He is further survived by his great-great-grandmother, Thedora B. Washington of Cayce, SC. Xylo leaves behind a loving circle of aunts and uncles: Jayla Patterson of Blythewood, SC; Brielle Shannon of Ridgeway, SC; Xaria Kelly of Columbia, SC; Christopher Seals of Ridgeway, SC; Jecobie Washington; Jarel Washington; Thomas Grooms; and Ty'metruis Kelly of West Columbia, SC. He is also lovingly remembered by special friends Ashley (Jason) Crawley and Shaterica (Jarvis) Shedrick, along with a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends who will always love and remember him.

Though Xylo's earthly journey was brief, his legacy of love will live on forever. He will remain forever in our hearts.
