Baldomero Quiroz Jr., affectionately known as Baldy, of Lake Elsinore, California, peacefully departed this life on May 30, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on April 3, 1932, in Houston, Texas, he was the cherished son of Baldomero Sr. and Concepcion Quiroz. Growing up alongside his three brothers-David, Lawrence, and Moises-Baldy nurtured dreams of following in his father's footsteps as an architect. However, upon graduating from high school, he felt called to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
Baldy was stationed in Korea from 1951 to 1954, and upon the conclusion of the war, he returned to Camp Pendleton, where he served honorably as a Sergeant before being discharged in 1955. He soon established a home in Anaheim, California, dedicating over thirty years to his career at General Motors, where he developed a profound appreciation for automobiles, particularly Cadillacs. After retiring in Detroit, Michigan, Baldy returned to Anaheim, where he embraced the joys of full-time grandfatherhood.
Later, Baldy and his beloved wife Lucille, who has since passed, made their home in Lake Elsinore. He was known as a man of few words, yet his loving and selfless nature shone brightly through his actions. Baldy will be lovingly remembered for his quick wit, love for music, unwavering support for the Los Angeles Lakers and Rams, and especially his sweet tooth.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Eileen. He is survived by his three sons, David, Michael, and Christopher, and his legacy continues through his nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
