Barbara Catherine Handley, 75, of Orient, Ohio, passed away on March 26, 2025, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
Barb, a dearly loved wife, mom, and Mamaw, peacefully departed this life on March 26, 2025, at the age of 75. She was a dedicated mother to Jonda and Jody, a treasured Mamaw to Brittany, Gracie, and Jonathon, and a blessed Great-Mamaw to Memphis and Georgia. Known for her boundless kindness and vibrant spirit, she touched the lives of many.
Barb was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, as well as her sisters Roberta Weirather and Doris Green, brothers Rodney and Roger Crago. She is survived by her sister, Marnna See (Jim), daughters Jonda Handley and Jody Handley (along with Jeff, Mallory, Aundrea, and Jordan), and Dell Vanderpool. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren Brittany Bintz (Ryan), Gracie Handley (Zane), and Jonathon Decker along with great-grandchildren Memphis and Georgia. She is also remembered fondly by her special nieces, Carmella King (Mike) and Paula Conkle (Rusty), along with many other nieces and nephews who will cherish the love she shared throughout their lives.
As a devoted Mom of two daughters, loving Mamaw to three, and cherished Great-Mamaw to two, Barb was the heart and soul of the Handley family. Her warm and welcoming home was the gathering place for Sunday dinners, several weekly family dinners and gatherings, holiday celebrations, and spontaneous yard games filled with laughter. Barb's greatest joy came from treasuring precious moments with her family, enjoying the nightly tradition of watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, diving into captivating books, and watching Facebook reels.
A memorial service will be held at Newcomer on April 4th. Family will receive family and friends from 11:00 am-2:00pm, service at 2:00 pm. Celebration of life to follow at the Grove City Elks Lodge.
