It is with profound love and heartfelt sorrow that we celebrate the life of Mrs. Barbara Jean Allmon, who entered eternal rest on September 15, 2025, at the blessed age of 89. Born on July 10, 1936, in Jackson, Tennessee, to the late Albert Stewart and Mary Alice Hardeman Stewart, Barbara lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She accepted Christ at an early age, and her favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" - was the guiding light of her journey. At the tender age of 27, following the passing of her mother, Barbara made a selfless decision that would define her life's legacy. She relocated her younger siblings from Nashville, TN, to
Flint, MI, raising them alongside her own children. In doing so, she became not only a sister and mother, but also the glue that bound her family together - the voice of wisdom, the source of strength, and the beloved matriarch whose presence shaped generations. Barbara was a faithful member of St. Peter (formerly St. James) CME Church in
Flint, MI. After relocating to Tennessee, she united with St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Hartsville, TN under the leadership of Pastor Denzil A. Bryant, where she remained a devoted member until her health no longer allowed her to attend. Known for her nurturing spirit and her gift of making lasting friendships, Barbara touched countless lives with her love, generosity, and faith. Her home was a place of warmth, and family gatherings especially during Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving reflected her joy in bringing loved ones together. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, strength, and grace will live on through her family and all who knew her.
