Barbara Ann Alman, nee Ball, 86. Beloved wife for 66 years to the late Ronald; devoted mother of Gregory Alman (Tanna Harris) and Jill (Ian) Stone; proud grandmother of Sara Bartell, Eli Alman, Evan Alman, Bryanna Hipp, Isaac Stone, and Sydney Stone; cherished sister of George Ball, Elizabeth (Ralph) Weiland, and the late Thomas (Linda) Ball; loving aunt, cousin, and friend of many. Dedicated wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, Barbara was known as "Doll" to Ron and "Dolly" to her Colver family and community. She was a coal miner's daughter to Tom and Anna (nee Wahna) Ball. Barbara was married in Harrisburg in 1959. She enjoyed a long career as a devoted administrative assistant for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, and later for the Michael Dukakis administration in Massachusetts. She enjoyed reading, artwork, visiting museums, and Jeopardy. As a testament to her devotion to Ron, despite a fear of deep water she crewed the sailboat "Beruviah" on Lake Massapoag for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg, https://www.jewishharrisburg.org/waystogive/honor-memorial-tribute. Funeral services will be private. To leave condolences: www.shalommemorial.org, 847-255-3520.
