Barbara Ann Clifton

Barbara Ann Smith Clifton, age 76, of Northport, Alabama, passed away July 2, 2024, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Magnolia Chapel North with Stan Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Magnolia Chapel North.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Nixon Smith and Mary Sibyl McGee Smith; and grandson, Jordan Tanner Morrison.

Survivors include her daughters, Leigh Ann Morrison (Stan), Leslie Musumecci (Frank), and Ashley Tilley (Daniel); brother, Jerry Nixon Smith; grandchildren, Brandon Rice (Catherine), Tyler Morrison, Blake Rice (Ryane), Anna Kathryn Roberts (Tyler), Carlie Parrish (Austin), Trent Morrison (Ashtyn), Cloie Musumecci, Jude Tilley, and Cohen Tilley; and great-grandchildren, Beck, Luke, Charlie, Ben, and Ruby Rice; Gates, Everette, and Salter Rice; Mecci Parrish; Tanner, Hudson, and Lottie Roberts; Layton Morrison, and Jordan Morrison.

Barbara exemplified the fruits of the spirit and was a bright light to all she encountered. She was an incredibly strong and faithful mother who embodied courage and resilience. Her hair was always perfectly teased, makeup on just right, dressed to perfection and never lacking her shawl because she was always cold. She didn’t leave the house without her spritz of perfume, red nails, earrings, and lipstick always looking put together.

Barbara loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren who affectionately called here Mimi and Nanny. Barbara had a heart of gold and honored the Lord using her creative gifts to paint sentimental pieces, make bows for everyone’s special occasions, and created beautiful floral arrangements for all to enjoy.

She was the matriarch of our family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her life. She had so much love for each of us and cherished each day watching them grow. We all know Barbara’s love for Facebook keeping up with everyone through their good times and bad and was a prayer warrior for us all. Words cannot express the love we have for this beautiful lady. She will be missed by all that knew her and we are grateful for the gift of salvation and the promise of Heaven to be reunited again one day.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Rice, Blake Rice, Tyler Morrison, Trent Morrison, Jude Tilley, Cohen Tilley, Tyler Roberts, and Austin Parrish.
