Barbara Annise Baker, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Waxahachie, Texas.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 4:30 - 6:30 PM.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Chapel with Pastor Phillip Litton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Barbara was born on February 12, 1952 in Sweetwater, Texas, to Lawrence A. Warren and Marjorie (Owen) Warren. She married Jerry Dean Baker on September 20, 1968 in Sweetwater, Texas. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. During her lifetime, Barbara worked for Whiz Wumples in Merkel, Texas as a cook, TSTC, Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital, Check Mart and Walmart. She also loved using her skills as a beautician on her friends and family. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Tabatha Burnett and husband Jerry of Waxahachie, Texas; her sons, Sam Baker and wife Lana and Joseph Baker, all of Sweetwater, Texas; six grandchildren, Brittany Bowers, Elizabeth Baker, Taylor Davis/Pruit and her husband Tyler, Justin Davis and fiance Natalie Krusz, Jerry Burnett, Harlee Baker; and grandson-in-law, Wyatt Moorhead; five great grandchildren, Scarlett Bowers, Rory Bowers, Grayson Moorhead, Nolan Moorhead and Rylan Moorhead; brother, Randall (Randy) Warren and wife Shirley of Abilene, Texas; sisters, Patricia McGowan and Fay Morris, both of Sweetwater, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Marjorie Warren; husband, Jerry Dean Baker; son, Jerry Baker; granddaughter, Chloe Baker; sister, Marjorie Anell Hill and brothers-in-law, Stanley Morris and Pete McGowan.
