Barbara worked at Mirro until 1979 when a house fire left her permanently disabled. Through the years she worked part-time at Marco manor halfway house and took various jobs elsewhere.

Barbara was an active member of her church and AA communities. She loved the outdoors and spending her summers camping at Maple View Campground. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Harold & Ruth Homeyer, two of her children Jacqueline Marie and Brian Scott Blashka and her sister Jenny Lynn Hoyt.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on November 22nd, 2025 at Abundant Life Church at noon. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 11 AM to 12 followed with a gathering at North Meadow Lanes (1540 Johnston Dr.), Manitowoc.
