Barbara Ann Bliss

Barbara Ann Bliss, age 74, of Stanton, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on May 22, 1950, to the late James L. Foster and the late Frankie Jane McCoy Foster. Barbara was a devoted member of Cat Creek Church of Christ, where her warm smile and genuine kindness endeared her to everyone she met. She had a remarkable way of making others feel valued, always ready to lend a helping hand. With a spirit full of independence, Barbara approached each day with a sense of purpose and determination. Her yard was a testament to her nurturing nature, filled with vibrant flowers that she tended to with love and care. The beauty of her garden reflected her personality—bright, colorful, and full of life. Cooking was another of her passions; she delighted in preparing meals that brought friends and family together around the table. Barbara found solace in the great outdoors, particularly when fishing or boating at the serene Cave Run Lake. Those moments, surrounded by nature, were where she felt most at peace, making joyful memories that would last a lifetime. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Bliss; her son: Michael Lee Bliss; six brothers: Paul Foster, Harold Keith Foster, Hibert Foster, Winston Foster, Eldon Foster, and Wilson Foster; and two sisters: Audrey Mae Foster, and Carolyn Hisle. She is survived by her daughter: Donna Ann (Jay) Perkins of Whitesburg; one brother: Reece (Janet) Foster of Stanton; one sister: Sharon (Ralph) Patrick of Clay City; four grandchildren: Erin Billings, Megan Leigh (Jake) Hall, Tori Perkins, and Tyler Perkins; and one great-grandchild, Laci Kate Hall. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Dwaine Meadows will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Burial will be held at McCoy Cemetery in Stanton, with Chad Bush, Eric Williams, Bobby Patrick, Tracy Neal, Anthony Foster, and Matthew Foster serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Patrick and Ryan French. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
