In Loving Memory
Barbara Groch Bogsch
March 13, 1935 – May 3, 2025
Barbara Bogsch, age 90, passed away on May 3, 2025, in
Naples, Florida. Born Barbara Lamond on March 13, 1935 to Helen (Daly) and Ralph Lamond, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Barbara grew up in Southwest Philadelphia and attended West Catholic Girls High School.
After high school, Barbara worked at Curtis Publishing Company before marrying Joseph F. Groch in 1956. Together, they settled in Cinnaminson, New Jersey, where Barbara lovingly raised their two children (Joseph and Michael) and embraced her role as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. While raising her family, she enjoyed a close circle of neighbors and friends. In later years, she returned to work in women's retail in New Jersey with her natural flair for fashion.
Barbara moved to
Naples, Florida, in 1989, continued her work in retail until age 75. She thrived in the tropical climate, loved going to the beach, golfing and traveling. She was a woman of great spirit-independent, witty, and sharp-who stayed engaged with current events and always took pride in her home décor and personal style.
Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph F. Groch (1978), her beloved son Michael A. Groch (1998), and her second husband, John Bogsch (2018).
She is survived by her son, Joseph M. Groch, and daughter-in-law, Gina Groch; her daughter-in-law, Nanci Carney Groch (Michael); stepson Jack Bogsch (Judy); and her cherished grandchildren: Timothy Groch (Aly), Matthew Groch, Mary Groch Engelbert (Justin), Melanie Groch Strieder (Felipe), and Andrea Groch Smith (Ryan); and step-grandson Aric Bogsch (Angela). Barbara also leaves behind her adored great-grandchildren: Asher Groch, Anders and Nomie Engelbert, Norah Smith, and Gisella Strieder. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Helen Patricia (Pat) Reilly.
Barbara's sense of humor and spirited nature will forever live in the hearts of those she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity and love for her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 31 at 11:00am at St. William Catholic Church in Naples.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barbara's memory to the
American Cancer Society.
