Barbara Bonneau Obituary

Bonneau, Barbara
ALBANY - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Anne Bonneau, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left us peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Barbara was the heart and soul of our family, a steadfast symbol of love and unity from which we all drew strength and inspiration.
Born in Albany, New York, to the late Marna Tanchak and Francis Reittinger, Barbara dedicated her life to nurturing her family, embodying the true essence of motherhood. Barbara's home was a sanctuary of warmth and joy, especially during the holidays when her dining room table became a gathering place for family celebrations. It was here that we shared laughter, stories, apple pie and chocolate jumbos. These cherished recipes will forever remind us of her nurturing spirit and the sweetness she brought to every moment.
An incredible mother, her unwavering love and support were felt by all, not only by her children, Kimberly Bonneau (Edward Webber), Vicki Avery (Michael), and Karen Mattison (Brian); but also by her grandchildren, Albert Blake, Michael Avery (Jessica), Tristin Smith (Kenneth), Amber Mattison (Samuel), and Lillian Mattison; as well as her great-grandchildren, Jase, Ella, Ryan, and Kendal. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, a testament to the profound impact she had on their lives. Barbara is also survived by her siblings, Laurie D'Aprile and Michael Alund. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leo Patrick Bonneau Sr.; their son, Leo Patrick Bonneau Jr.; and her siblings, Linda LoCicero, Bonnie Viola, and Daniel Alund.
As we remember Barbara, we celebrate her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family. She taught us the importance of togetherness and the joy of creating memories that will last a lifetime. Her laughter, wisdom, and generous spirit will be deeply missed, but will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A few years back I enjoyed our Friday night dinners at the Italian club. We have known each other for a lot of years. Blessings

I was a neighbor of Barbara's. On my daily morning walk I would move her paper so she could get to it at the door. On warmer days she sat on the porch and wave me in to have a chat. We'd get going and she would start laughing, she was a very happy lady. She often mentioned how proud she was of her entire family ,I could tell she loved them all deeply. I will miss those chats with her on the warm summer days. Rest in God's care Barbara.
