Barbara Joan Brienza

Barbara was my mother´s cousin. I knew her younger brother, Chuckie and younger sister, Carol better, but they all had moved away from Oregon. Many years ago my family stayed with her parents, our Aunt Doty and Uncle Charlie when they lived in Costa Mesa and are therefore forever associated with Disneyland.

Barbara gave me my own fantasy. I was chosen to be the flower girl at her wedding. I was too young to remember if the actual ceremony was in a church; it probably was but flower girl nerves of making a grand entrance have wiped out that memory. I do remember wearing a beautiful dress and wandering around a fairy tale reception of yellow and white in the garden of my Aunt and Uncle.

I hope the rest of her life was as beautiful as my special memory. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
