Barbara Mae Brown, a devoted mother and Christian, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the age of 87 at her home in Quinlan, Texas. She was born on September 26, 1937, to parents Bonnie Harris and Ralph Harris.
Barbara was a dedicated stay-at-home mom until her children were grown. In 1987, she began her career at Raytheon and retired in 1999.
She cherished precious moments spent with her family and friends. For those who knew her, you loved her. She was the absolute best. Grandparents are there for you when parents can’t be, and she was always there for everyone.
Barbara Harris married Alvin Brown on February 23, 1963. She had four sons: John Michael Porter and wife Deidra, Kenneth Mark Porter and wife Connie, Richard Brown and wife Vanessa, and Alvin H. Brown Jr. She had five grandchildren: Ashley Hess, Joshua Porter, Megan Kirby husban Brandon Kirby, Kelsi Dhane Husband Brandon Dhane, and Richy Brown. She had six great-grandchildren: Hayden Dhane, Wife Emory Dhane, Jordyn Dhane, Bria Hess, Adrian Porter, Kinsley Kirby, and Kaden Kirby. One Expecting great-great Grandchild in Oct 2025.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin H. Brown, Sr., son Alvin H. Brown, Jr. Her father Ralph Harris mother Bonnie Harris, eight siblings Alice Nell, Merrill, Joe, Jack, Thomas (Tink), Charlie, Bill (Twin Brother) and Ralphie.
A funeral service in her honor will be held on Thursday June 12, 2025 at 10am at Quinlan Funeral Home. Visitation will take place one hour prior.
Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating a life that enriched the lives of so many through her faith, kindness, and love.
