Barbara was born on March 6, 1938 in Waterloo, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (DelPapa) Hauf. Barbara graduated from Waterloo High School in 1956 and Mohawk Valley Technical Institute with an Associate's Degree in 1958. Barbara often shared with others how she and a friend traveled across the country in a VW bug in the early 1960's and settled in San Francisco, California for a brief period. Barbara ended up returning to her hometown of Waterloo where she enjoyed being close to her family and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Barbara was a dedicated employee of NYSEG for over 20 years, retiring in 1994. She spent the majority of her years working in the Seneca Falls office where she met and married her husband, Joseph, in 1972. They lived happily together for 41 years until his death in 2013.
Family was the most important part of Barbara's life. Barbara had a strong work ethic, a fierce love for her family, a sense of humor, and a strong sense of faith. Barbara enjoyed spending her time reading, watching the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills, and visiting with family and friends. After the death of her husband, Joseph, Barbara moved to Lyons to live with her daughter and family. Barbara quickly made Lyons her new home and enjoyed watching her granddaughters grow up, frequenting the Lyons Public Library, and attending St. Michael's Church. Over the past five years, Barbara's daily companion was the family dog, Belle, whom she loved dearly.
Barbara is survived by son, Paul (Shannon Cali) Caci of Waterloo, N.Y.; daughter, Alison (Howard) J. Clark of Lyons, N.Y.; stepdaughter, Anita Caci of Flagler Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Alexis and Abbey Clark; brother, Walter (Marge) R. Hauf of Waterloo, N.Y.; sister, Alice Moskal of Palmyra, N.Y.; and sister-in-law, Ginger Hauf of Geneva, N.Y.; aunt, Gladys DelPapa of Waterloo; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph M. Caci; her parents; and brother James Hauf; and in-laws Edward Moskal, Dominic Caci, Phillip and Yola Caci, Wilfred and Helen Harris, and Angelo and Francis Caci.
