Barbara A. Capes

Barbara A. Capes, age 71, of North Lawrence, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013. Barbara was born on September 11, 1941 in Akron, Ohio the daughter of the late Walter and Sally (Thomas) Walczuk. Barbara lived in the area most of her life. She retired from Aultman Hospital Coronary Care Unit as an R.N. after 30 years of service in the medical profession and was known to her co-workers as 'Mama Capes'. She enjoyed the outdoors, walking her pets, traveling abroad and spending time with her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph 'Mike' Capes who passed away January 25, 2013. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Jack Blakney, Matt (Terri) Blakney, Kevin Blakney, Stephanie (Craig) Jorza, Deirdre Blakney, Denise Blakney-Beringer and Jeff (Angie) Blakney; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and her sister and brother-in-law Pamela (Larry) Cassidy. A Celebration of Barbara's life will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Celebrant Kevin O'Brien will be Officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stark Co. Humane Society.
