Pawtucket – Barbara A. (Pickles) Charpentier, 88, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Charpentier for sixty-eight loving years at the time of his passing on July 29, 2025. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Wallace M. and Anna E. (Walsh) Pickles.
Barbara was a 1955 graduate of Pawtucket East Senior High School and a communicant of St. Teresa Church. She was a former member of the Rhode Island Girl Scouts of America; Rhode Island College Associates; Potter-Burns PTA; St. Raphael Academy Ladies Auxiliary; St. Cecilia’s Woman’s Club; St. Cecilia’s Choir and the B.V.E. Senior’s Club.
She leaves three daughters, Lori J. Cookson and her husband, David, of Miamisburg, Ohio, Lynne A. LaCroix and her husband, Richard, of Enfield, New Hampshire and Christine M. Buja of Pawtucket; two sons, Robert S. Charpentier of Harrisville, RI and Marc D. Charpentier and his fiancée, Nicole Mancini, of Clemmons, NC; two brothers, Robert G. Pickles and his wife, Patricia, and Donald Pickles and his late wife, Verle, all of New Port Richey, Florida; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Allison E. Buja and the sister of the late Marion E. Thorpe, Donna Lee Mezo-Clark and Walter J. Pickles.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Ave., Pawtucket. Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted. Memorial gifts to Bradley Children's Hospital, ATTN: Craft Unit, 1011 Veterans Memorial Parkway, East Providence, RI 02915 in memory of Allison E. Buja would be appreciated.
