Barbara R. "Barb" Cohen

Barbara "Barb" Cohen, 86, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Seymour Cohen for 25 wonderful years. Loving mother of Wendy (Sean) Flynn and Edward (Jodi) Cohen. Cherished grandmother of Samuel and Shayna. Dear sister of Karen (Robert) Kohn. Treasured friend to many. Barb was a wonderful, loving, and caring woman – deeply family-oriented and fiercely protective of those she loved. She especially enjoyed hosting the holidays, with Hanukkah being her favorite time of year. Nothing delighted her more than spending time with family and showering her grandchildren with love. Barb taught in the Chicago Public Schools for around eight years, before she had her two children. She stayed at home raising her two children until they went to school full time. She returned to work in the late 1970's and ended her career in the early 2000's at a company in Northbrook. When she wasn't with family, Barb could often be found reading a good book or spending quality time with friends – enjoying lunches, movies, and many lively games of Mah-Jongg. Barb will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, generosity, and love of family will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
