Barbara Contreras Obituary
Barbara G. Contreras, age 75, of Dudleyville, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, surrounded by the family she so deeply loved.
Born on July 6, 1950, in Ray, Arizona, to Cruz and Catalina Gonzales, Barbara's life was one of faith, devotion, and laughter. She dedicated over 20 years of her life to The ARC of Arizona, where she served as a compassionate paraprofessional, touching countless lives with her patience, warmth, and gentle spirit.
Barbara was the heart of her family-a devoted wife, loving mother, proud Nana, and loyal friend. Her laughter filled every room, her hugs brought comfort, and her words carried love and wisdom. She found joy in life's simple moments-family gatherings, sharing stories, and caring for those around her. Her faith guided her, her humor uplifted others, and her kindness left an imprint that will never fade.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Arnold Contreras of Dudleyville; brother Conrad (Martha) Gonzales of San Tan Valley; children Arlette (Reginald) Williams of Queen Creek, Adrianne (Lew) Cooksey of Apache Junction, Esmeralda (Angel) Puente of Sierra Vista, and Arnold (Kristy) Contreras of San Tan Valley. She was a proud Nana to Deliano Contreras, Ymari Contreras, Yazmarr Williams, Addison Cooksey, Mason Cooksey, Gabriel Puente, Celena Contreras, Hannah Contreras, and Hailey Contreras; and a loving great-grandmother to Evelyn Dominguez, Leilani Contreras-Stoner, and Aria Lopez.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Cruz and Catalina Gonzales; sisters Carol Monroy and Pricilla Lopez; and brothers Cruz Gonzales and Arturo Gonzales.
