WORCESTER - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara M. Cote, age 98, who departed this life on January 8, 2026, in Worcester, Massachusetts. Born on December 18, 1927, in Worcester, she lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of those around her with her kindness and wisdom.
Barbara was a dedicated professional, working as an Insurance Administrator in the insurance industry, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues. She cherished her family above all, finding joy in spending quality time with them.
A past member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Worcester, she actively participated in her community, fostering connections that enriched her life and the lives of others.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerard H. Cote in 1978, and her brother, Joseph Sweeney, Jr.
Barbara is survived by her cherished daughter, Karen Medoff, and her husband, Marc of Paxton; her son, Jeffery Cote of Cape Cod; her grandchildren, Matthew, Joseph, Sarah, and Jeremy; as well as her six great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services for Barbara M. Cote will be held at Miles Funeral Home on January 13, 2026. Calling hours will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton.
