Barbara Jean Culbreath (better known as Bobbie) was born November 9,1940, in El Paso Texas, to Johnny B. and Katie Rosier. Barbara was baptized at an early age at St. James Baptist Church, which was founded by her grandfather. Larry B. Butler. and under the leadership of Reverend Maxwell. She was a Douglas high school graduate. Barbara went on to pursue a career in health care, where she worked many years as a certified nurse assistant. She also worked for Luby's cafeteria as well as received her certification as a nail tech. Years later, she worked for El Paso independent school district as a bus monitor until she retired, she later became an ordained minister.
Barbara enjoyed entertaining family, church family, and friends for multiple functions and occasions. She was a lifelong member of Unity M. B. Church, where she was an usher, member of the choir, worked with the youth for congress, as well as BTU, Sunday school, and many other areas where she was needed, under the leadership of Dr. O.1. Kirk Sr. and later, Pastor Lonnie Townsend Sr.
Barbara was proceeded in death by her parents Johnny B. and Katie Rosier, two brothers, J. L., Johnny B. Rosier, two sisters, Reba Council, Catherine Smith, and two granddaughters, Shunel (Cookie) Jackson and LaShawn Nicole Turner.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her six children, Bertha Williams San Antonio, Texas, Michelle Turner San Antonio, Texas, Sandra Jackson- El Paso, Texas, Jennie Pippen- El Paso, Texas, Melissa Newbell- Houston, Texas, Victor Moore-Amarillo, Texas, as well as eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
