Barbara Ann Dangerfield, 86, of North Manchester, Indiana, died at 2:00 am, Monday, December 1, 2025, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. She was born on December 27, 1938, west of Roann in Wabash County to Paul Leroy and Effie (Kesler) Morphew.
Barbara was a 1956 graduate of Noble Township High School. She married Larry G. Dangerfield at the Richvalley United Methodist Church on July 14, 1957; he died July 31, 2000. Barbara worked at City Hall and King Hipskind Hardware, both of Wabash, and once she moved to Ocala, Florida, she worked for Jerry's Pawn Shop, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ since April 12, 1981.
Barbara was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a kind and gentle person with a sweet tooth that wasn't easily satisfied. Barbara enjoyed a friendly competition, playing games of all sorts with friends and family. She was no stranger to hard work as she took joy in toiling in the yard, painting the interior and exterior of her home, and otherwise tackling any home project that needed attention. Barbara especially appreciated flowers, gardening, and music by Elvis. Her faithful love of God and Jesus Christ cultivated in her early days and throughout her life served as a foundation for weathering life's challenges.
She is survived by two children, Tammy Bormann of Concord, North Carolina and Steven (Carla) Dangerfield of Fort Wayne, Indiana; six grandchildren, Nick (Haley) Bormann of Concord, Sara (Nathan) Mogilski of Raleigh, North Carolina, Jenny (Bibi) Ladele of Concord, Amy (Michael) Hendrix of North Manchester, Scott Dangerfield of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Ashley (Cain) Streck of Noblesville, Indiana, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gene Dangerfield; daughter-in-law, Paula Ahlfeld; son-in-law, Marty Bormann; brother, Keith Morphew, and sister-in-law, Delores Morphew.
