Barbara Lynn Daschner, 65, of Talladega, AL passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 11, 2023. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Hepzibah Baptist Church with Justin Milliken officiating. Her family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the service at Hepzibah Baptist Church Cemetery. Barbara was born on October 24, 1957 in Watseka, IL, and she resided in Talladega, AL. Barbara graduated from Ottawa High School in 1976 in Ottawa, IL. She moved to New Orleans, LA and attended Charity Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated with her R.N. in Nursing. She received two advanced degrees from Samford University in Biblical Studies. She worked at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and later moved to Alabama. She retired from UAB Hospital where she previously worked in the oncology and radiology unit. She most recently worked at the V.A. Hospital in Birmingham in the oncology unit. She was dearly loved by both her patients and co-workers. Barbara loved the Lord and was a Sunday school teacher at Hepzibah Baptist Church in Talladega. She was a beautiful servant of Christ and lived her life guided by her strong faith in God. Her hobbies included scuba diving, skydiving, riding on jet skis, biblical studies, and spending time with her nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She is survived by her siblings, Arla Albers (Howard), Dennis Daschner (Edna), Laurie Daschner-Simmons (Curtis), and Lisa Daschner-Riddley (Mark), and nieces and nephews, Christine Maldonado (Carlos), Faith Gerber (Adrian), Frederick DeLeon (Ashley), Genevieve Pillen (Alexei), Erick Daschner, Mike Daschner (Sarah), Heather Miller, and Megan Daschner. Ms. Daschner was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Daschner; mother, Roberta Jane Atkins Daschner; brother, Kenneth Del Daschner; grandparents, Ray and Alta Atkins and Frances and Cloyd Daschner, and the love of her life, her fiancé, Mark David Halle. Mark Riddley, Mike Daschner, Erick Daschner, Frederick DeLeon, Alexei Pillen and Curtis Simmons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made in Barbara's honor to Hepzibah Baptist Church for Operation Christmas Child. Online condolences may be made at
