Barbara Day Obituary
Barbara was born on August 1, 1932 in Mountain City, TN. Her parents, Morris and Geneva Eckard eventually moved to Norfolk, VA where she graduated from Norview High School in 1950. It was in Norfolk that she met and married Captain Ed R. Day Jr. In 1975, they retired to Marco Island, FL and considered it home for 42 years.
Barbara is survived by her stepsons, Ed Day (Luanne) and Jim Day (Michele) of Charlotte, NC, her sister, Colleen Eckard of Richmond, VA, and Sandy Martinette Goodman of LeGrange, Ga, twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A graveside service is planned for Saturday, February 20th, at 1:00 pm at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens in Chesapeake, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Charlotte, or the Humane Society of Charlotte.
