Barbara DeLusant Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Silverton Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Toms River on Dec. 30, 2025.
Barbara Ann DeLusant, 73 of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.
Barbara was born on October 17, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York, to Viola and Constantino Forte. After graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1969, she began her professional career on Wall Street at State Street International. In October of 1978, she married the love of her life, Gene, beginning a journey defined by deep love, shared dreams, and a lifetime of memories.
Following the birth of their children; Vanessa and Stephen, Barbara devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her family, pouring her heart and soul into nurturing and supporting them. Barbara returned to the workforce in the medical field, where she managed medical offices for many years. She went on to serve as a Practice Site Administrator at ENT and Allergy Associates for more than 20 years, a role in which she was deeply respected for her dedication, leadership, and compassion.
Barbara was a devout Catholic, and her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She also carried a deep sense of patriotism, honoring her country and the values she held dear. Above all, Barbara found her greatest joy in being surrounded by her family.
She treasured every moment with her beloved grandchildren - Joseph, Noelle, Mila, and Nico - and delighted in watching them grow. She loved spoiling them with anything their hearts desired and cherished even the smallest moments they shared. Whether she was doing crafts and activities around the table, offering endless hugs and snuggles, painting the girls' nails, or proudly supporting them at their extracurricular activities, Barbara was always fully present and deeply devoted.
Family time was sacred to Barbara. She looked forward to the annual family beach week on Long Beach Island, where she made memories with her family for nearly 40 years. Some of her happiest moments were also spent traveling with her husband, including unforgettable trips to Italy, that held a special place in her heart. She also cherished quiet boat rides with him, chasing sunsets at the Jersey shore.
Barbara found joy in gardening, shopping, and decorating, and her beautiful flowers and thoughtfully decorated spaces reflected her warmth, creativity, and attention to detail. She was known for her exceptional cooking, which brought everyone together. Her chicken parmesan and stuffed artichokes were beloved family favorites, along with the baked clams her grandchildren adored. Lovingly prepared for family gatherings, these dishes became treasured staples at every celebration.
Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Eugene; her daughter, Vanessa Angelo, and her husband, Joseph; her son, Stephen DeLusant, and his wife, Sara; her cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Noelle, Mila, and Nico; her brother, Peter Forte, and his wife, Ana; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Barbara's life was a testament to faith, family, and love. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the memories she created, the traditions she cherished, and the countless lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.

I met Barbara at Harris Upham , a Wall Street firm. My dad worked for Harris Upham for 47 years. It was a wonderful firm, filled with hard working long time employees. My dad couldn“t wait to introduce me to Barbara. She greeted me with her famous beautiful smile. To this day when I purchase coffee yogurt, I think of her. She was professional, kind, caring, just a lovely human being. My Dad told me that she was the type of employee he hoped I would emulate. I took his advice! My deepest sympathies to her family and loved ones. She truly was a special person.
