Barbara Frances Delvac, 87, of Mount Pleasant, SC, entered into eternal rest Sunday, March 19, 2023. Her graveside funeral service will be a private family gathering.
Barbara was born March 10, 1936, in New York City, daughter of the late Russell Case and the late M. Lois Savage Case. She attended Queens College, was the top graduate at Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School, and worked as an executive secretary for Sperry Gyroscope Company/Unisys Corp in Great Neck, NY. Later she was an awarded sales representative for both Avon and Amway. Barbara had many talents and was accepted at The Juilliard School as a pianist and enjoyed painting. She was active in her community serving as a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown, NY and was a member of the League of Women Voters. A self-described Francophile, she spoke French and enjoyed travel.
She is survived by her son Joseph J. Delvac (Laura) of Hauppauge, NY and two daughters, Barbara L. Drobes (David) of Dunedin, FL and Laura A. McLellan (Thomas) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Amy Laverty (Larry), Emily Drobes and Nicholas Drobes; great-grandchildren, Landon, Reese, and Greyson Laverty, and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph John Delvac.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, 12902 Magnolia Drive, MBC-FOUND, Tampa, FL 33612, Charleston Animal Society 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406, www.CharlestonAnimalSociety.org/donate or a charitable organization of your choosing.
