Barbara was born March 11, 1934 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late Nell Bair Dempsey and Cliff Dempsey. She has lived in the same community for 83 years. She attended St. Andrews School 1st-12th and worked for Dr. Smith for 15 years.
She is survived by: her only daughter, Tammy E. Aydlett. Tammy was a blessing in every form. She cared for me and her dad through thick and thin. She would like to thank two special people, Steve and Lynn Tarkington, for always being there for her and helping her through difficult times in her life. The family would like to also think everyone with Crescent Hospice, especially Sydney "Dimples", Cristine, wonderful nurses and special friend and a dear friend of the family who has faithfully come every Sunday to dress my head, Leesa Planton.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Rd., Charleston, SC 29414.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Crescent Hospice, 4401 Belle Oaks Drive, Suite 105, N. Charleston, SC 29405 or Ashley River Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy, Charleston, SC 29407.
