A devoted Catholic, and consummate New Yorker, Barbara grew up in Stuyvesant Town, NY and attended Cathedral High School before attending St. Vincent'sSchool of Nursing, both all-girl Catholic institutions. She was a Registered Nurse for her entire career, it was a career path that touched the lives of countless patients and their families. Her commitment to nursing went beyond mere duty; it was a true calling that emanated from her kind and nurturing heart.

Aside from her professional accomplishments, Barbara cherished her role as a loving wife to Terence Dillon whom she met and fell in love with at the beach (Spring Lake) on the Jersey Shore and was married to for 56 years. She was a loyal and devoted mother to her children Timothy, Patrick, Shawn, Brendan (Dawn) and Brian (Teresa) Dillon, as well as her daughter Meghan (Charlie) Dillon-Comstock. She found immense joy in her six beloved grandchildren Brianna, Hunter, Jackson, Alivia, Harper, and Oliver.  She was a cherished sister to older brother Richard Kailer.  In the hearts of those who knew her best, Barbara will forever be remembered for her selflessness, unwavering support, and unconditional love. Her legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her presence.
