Tyree Funeral Home, Inc. - Oak HillBarbara Mae Dixon, 70, of Lochgelly, WV peacefully entered into her eternal home on December 10,2025 surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on October 3,1955 in Montgomery, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Jackson Stover and Joan Wriston Armstrong.
Barbara resided with her daughter for the last ten years at Lochgelly and loved spending time with her family and her beloved fur puppy, Bailey. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and fishing. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, whom she loved very much.
She is preceded in death by her husband William Eugene Dixon and a brother Roger Lemon.
Those left to cherish her memory are her five children. Her daughter and caretaker Lori Treadway(Jeremy) of Lochgelly, WV, Robert Roop Jr.(Julia) of Hilltop, WV, James Roop(Tera) of Oak Hill, WV, William Dixon Jr. of Oak Hill, WV, and Matthew Dixon of Ohio. Thirteen grandchildren, Morgan(Chris), Tierra, Thomas Jr., Derek, Jacob, Trevor, Autumn, Caleb, Ashlyn, Natalea, Gavin, Heath, Cash and four great grandchildren Noah, Paisley, Roman, and Gabriel.
Also left to cherish her memory are her sister and best friend Billie Dinkler (Anderson) and her brother Christopher Armstrong, as well as a very special Aunt Rosa Hundley and Brother In Law Ted Dixon and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, she will be cremated, and a Memorial service will be held on 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Rev. Benny Akers officiating.
Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Oak Hill.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802-1472.
