WEST SAND LAKE - Barbara J. Dorr, 92, of West Sand Lake, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025, at home. Barbara was born in Woodstock, NY, on September 11, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Gordon and Wanda (Allen) Adee. She met the love of her life, John, at 16, and they married in August of 1951, spending 53 wonderful years together raising six children that they loved dearly. She was an avid gardener, tending her beautiful rock gardens diligently. She enjoyed taking scenic drives to anywhere, anytime. She loved steamed clams, corn on the cob, and fresh tomatoes, and lots of them! Barbara worked as a receptionist for EOC at Hudson Valley Community College for many years.
Survivors include children, Bradley A. (Darleen), Michael R. (Nancy) Susan A., Jeffrey D. (Melissa), David A., Ryan A. (Robyn), a brother Skip Adee, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren with another on the way.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John H. Dorr, and her younger brother, Keith Adee.
Friends and family are invited to call Monday, April 28, from 12-2 p.m. in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpk. Rensselaer. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Inurnment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Schodack.
