Barbara Falls Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Advent Funeral & Cremation Services - Lanham on Feb. 14, 2026.
On February 4, 2026, God is His infinite wisdom called Barbara Jeanne Falls to eternal rest. Barb passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her family. Her sudden death has left her friends and family heart-broken.

Barb was born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania on May 29, 1949. She got her nursing degree from Misericordia University. She then entered the United States Navy in 1973 and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Her assignments took her to Okinawa along with several bases in the United States. She spent the last part of her military career working at Bethesda Naval Hospital. After 20 years of faithful active duty and reserve service, she retired from the military.

Barb dedicated her life to volunteering. She spent several years helping out the school children in the library and lunch room at St. Thomas Aquinas School in Woodbridge, Virginia. Once moving to Maryland, she became a long-time member (20 years) of the Ladies of Charity and served as their Treasurer. Barb was an active member of this organization by overseeing all operations in the food pantry, collecting gifts for the Advent Giving Tree, and delivering toiletries to wounded soldiers at the Red Cross through Walter Reed.

Barb was an independent, charitable, and caring woman who would help anyone she could. She loved watching TV, especially her murder mystery shows. She also spent time doing crossword puzzles and playing games on her iPad.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Scholastica Boberick, her devoted husband of 35 years, Donald, and her loving granddaughter Brianna Hope. She leaves to cherish her memory her close-knit daughter, Rebecca and her affectionate grandchildren, Kyle and Kahlen. Barb always looked forward to their frequent visits. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
