Barbara Ann Van Alstyne Files, 86, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away January 8th, 2025 in her hometown. A graveside service celebrating her life will be held Sunday, January 26th, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Park in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Barbara was born on June 22nd, 1938 to Forrest and Doris Van Alstyne. She worked and raised her sons in Baton Rouge, Louisiana before moving to New Orleans, Louisiana to pursue a career with Historic Restoration, Inc. until her retirement in 2005.
She is survived by her sons Brian “Corey” Files (Amy), and Chris Files (Andrea); her grandchildren, Owen, Ben, Victoria and Hayden (Brooke); and her brother, Frank Van Alstyne, Jr. (Gail). She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Van Alstyne
