Barbara A. Gallone, born on January 13, 1937, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 24, 2026, in Leonia, NJ. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and a profound commitment to her family and community.
Barbara was a long-time employee of the Leonia Board of Education and the Borough of Leonia, where she was dedicated to contributing to the landscape of her town. After returning to school for paralegal studies, she further showcased her determination and ambition by working as a paralegal with Fogarty & Hara, Esq. Her commitment to her work and her family defined her life, creating a legacy of steadiness and strength that will be cherished by those who knew her.
Barbara’s personality was defined by her gentle and kind demeanor. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as reading and walking through her beloved town. Her steadfastness was evident to all who knew her, and those who had the privilege of spending time with her often marveled at how she thrived in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be cherished by those who knew her.
She leaves behind her sister, Patricia Pierson (Robert), her beloved children, Edward J. Gallone, Jr. (Rhonda), Maureen P. Gallone, Maryann Cerbo (Frank), and Gail Myers (Jeff and their family), along with her grandchildren Eddie Gallone, Tamara Christiani, Frank Cerbo, Joseph Murolo, and Mike Murolo, as well as four great-grandchildren. Each of them holds treasured memories of shared moments and laughter with their loving matriarch.
Barbara is predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Gallone, Sr., and her siblings, Maureen Miele and Susan Bini. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Genevieve McHugh Knight and Raymond Knight.
Visitation will be held on March 1, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Frank Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home in Fort Lee, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on March 2, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. John R. C. Church in Leonia, NJ, followed by burial at Madonna Cemetery in Fort Lee at 11:45 AM.
Barbara A. Gallone's gentle spirit will be profoundly missed, yet her memory will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
