Barbara J. Geesey

Barbara J. Geesey, 73, most recently of Penn Township, Hesston, formerly of York, went to be with the Lord Monday, January 20, 2025, at her home. Born November 8, 1951 in York, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Betty (Stevens) Epler. She was united in marriage to Edward R. Geesey on October 25, 1975, in York. Mr. Geesey preceded her in death in January 2011, after 35 years of marriage.
She is survived by four children, Lisa Washington and Sandra Geesey, both of York, Lee Geesey and wife, Lorrie, of Ocala, FL, and Laura Grubb and husband, Michael, of Hesston; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, with one expected any day. She is also survived by her two siblings, Elizabeth Knisley of York, and John Epler of Pensacola, FL.
Mrs. Geesey was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in York.
She was a 1969 graduate of Dallastown Area High School in York County.
Mrs. Geesey was employed by Glatfelter Insurance Group in York for over 20 years until her retirement. After retirement, she continued to work part-time for several years at the York Revolution professional baseball team's stadium, currently WellSpan Park.
She loved vacationing to Ocean City, MD, as well as, cooking and baking for others. She especially cherished her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at a later date and announced in the future when details are finalized. Interment will be in the Spry Church Cemetery, York.
