"Loving life partner, mother, and devoted grandmother"
Barbara (DiNicholas) Gentile, 76 entered into the gates of Heaven unexpectedly on Saturday, May 3, 2025 shortly after arrival at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the life partner of Pasquale "Patsy" Guerrera of Wolcott.
Barbara was born in Waterbury on September 11, 1948, daughter of the late Nicholas V. and Nancy (Bellini) DiNicholas. She graduated from J. F. Kennedy High School Class of 1966. She worked in the banking industry helping customers with their banking needs at Bank of America until her retirement from the Southbury branch in 2010. She loved playing cards, especially Set Back for most of her life. She and Patsy enjoyed vacationing and travel. Her greatest pleasure in life were her grandchildren whom she loved and adored and always looked forward to being with and shopping for.
Besides Patsy whom she was together for 32 years, she leaves to honor and cherish her memory; a son, John Gentile, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Wolcott; a daughter, Jodi Lynn Gentile of Torrington; a stepson, Michael Guerrera of Waterbury; a sister, Vivian Bellemare and her husband James of Bristol; a sister-in-law, Miriam DiNicholas of Southington; and five grandchildren, Anthony Devalle, Cole John Gentile, Myles Santino Gentile, Dominic Deschenes, and Makenzie Ouellette. She was predeceased by a brother, Carl DiNicholas.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial with Barbara's Cremains present will be held Saturday May 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Drive Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Final disposition will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury has been entrusted with Barbara's arrangements.
