Barbara Wright George

Barbara Wright George, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away on December 7, 2025. She was born on July 30, 1951, in Mt. Vernon, Ill., to Joseph James Wright, Jr. and Janet Blakely Wright (Watkins).

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Robert Samuel George, and the father of her children, Patrick Drake George.

Barbara is survived by her son, Patrick Wright George and wife Lauren; her sisters, Nancy Wright Clark, Mari Alice Sence, Janet Elizabeth Blackburn, and Catherine Wright Vantine; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews; her aunt, Barbara Blakely Mathis; and cousins.

Barbara was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, Ark. During her years as an active member, she served the church in many different roles.

Her boys were the center of her world. Her love for Patrick and Robert was selfless, steadfast, and unwavering. Barbara took immense joy in listening to them play music. She loved having a basement full of their friends creating and practicing music. She beamed anytime she had the opportunity to share a story about one of her boys.

A memorial service will be Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, Ark. Interment will be in the First United Presbyterian Church Columbarium.
