Barbara Gothage Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Russell & Pica Funeral Home - West Bridgewater on Jan. 5, 2026.
It is with great sorrow that we mourn the passing of Barbara Jean Gothage, of Bridgewater, at her home on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 after a valiant six year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Brockton on June 29, 1946, Barbara was the daughter of the late Samuel J. Gothage and Jenny (Gabriele) Gothage
Barbara was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and loyal friend to many.
She will be remembered for her faith, her dry sense of humor, her love of the outdoors (especially her "happy place" at Old Silver Beach), and her many athletic accomplishments. She was especially proud of completing 19 marathons and scoring 3 golf holes in one.
Most of all, she will be remembered for her lover of her family and friends. She leaves behind her twin sister Beverly Morrissey and her husband Stephen, her brother Richard Gothage and his wife Elaine; her nieces Elaine Cutrone and her husband Joseph, Kristen Carroll and her husband Robert, and Jennifer (Gothage) Simpson; her nephews Stephen and his wife Jamie, and Brian and his wife Kelley; and many great nieces and nephews, as well as two great-great nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her brother Robert J Gothage.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 7th at 12:00 PM (Noon) at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater, followed by interment in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Boston Children's Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
