BARBARA LORETTA GUCCIONE

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - Our sweet, beautiful, loving Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at her home in Arlington Heights, Illinois, with her son, Frank by her side. Barbara Loretta Guccione was born on January 24, 1938, in Chicago, IL to Dominick and Lucille Coccia. Barbara was one of five sisters. Growing up she loved spending summers up in Michigan with her family. Barbara graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School in 1956. Barbara married the love of her life, Joseph Guccione in 1957. They were married 45 years and had two children. Barbara was a devoted, loving wife and mom. Her husband and her children were everything to her. She suffered the loss of her beloved daughter, Karen Mondella, in 2015. Barbara was an excellent cook. She always made holidays and Sunday dinners special and fun with her decorations, beautifully set table, and wonderful food. She loved her weekly crosswords and playing cards with friends and family. We will miss Barbara's love, sweetness, caring nature, and selflessness. We find comfort in knowing Mom, Dad and Karen are together in Heaven. Barbara is survived by her son, Frank (Sally) Guccione; her grandchildren, Michael (Emily) Guccione and Lauren (Anthony) Misceo; her great-grandchildren, Rhett and Arden Misceo; her sister, Marion Guccione; and her son-in-law, Al Mondella. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her daughter, Karen; her sisters, Nina, Lee and Doris; and her parents. Committal service, 11:00 am, Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Mausoleum East Chapel at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
