Barbara Jean (Richter) Haage, 72, of Sioux Falls passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, at home peacefully with the care of her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch and burial in Hawarden, Iowa. Family will be present one hour before the service for visitation.
Barb was born in Spokane, WA on October 29, 1952. She attended Alcester country school through 8th grade, and graduated from Alcester High School in Alcester, SD.
On January 26, 1973, Barb was united in marriage to Dennis Haage in Hawarden, Iowa. They had two children, Christopher born July 1974, and Lori born June 1981.
Barb worked for many years in nursing care as a CNA for the elderly. When moving back to Sioux Falls, she worked in the cabinet industry where she retired from Showplace Wood Products in 2013.
Barb loved spending time with family and friends, while reminiscing and creating memories. She enjoyed traveling, crafting, playing games and cards. Her greatest accomplishment was being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Denny Haage, her children Chris (Dawn) Haage of Lennox SD, Lori (Roger) Gartamaker of Tea, SD. Also her grandchildren Sierra (Gavin) Reichmuth, Matthew Gartamaker, Krista Gartamaker, and great grandchild Cyrus Gartamaker; sisters Mary (Bob) Beeck, Cheryl (Alan) Schumacher, and Rhonda (Bernie) Koops, and many other family and friends.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Margaret Richter, brother Richard (Rick) Richter, and grandparents Theodore and Nellie Richter, and Virgil and Dorothy Williams.
