Barbara Lucille Hardman, 80, of Hillsdale, passed away January 9, 2026, at The Gibson Family
Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute. Born August 14, 1945, near Waveland, Indiana, she was the daughter of Charles and Dorothy Wilson Smith.
Barbara graduated from Mecca High School in 1963. She was a member of the Independent Baptist Church of Montezuma. She loved yard sales, cutting the grass, and most of all her grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by 4 sons: Troy Davis (Tracy) of Mobile, Alabama, Eric Davis of Hillsdale,
Braxton Hardman (Sally) of Waveland, and James Hardman (Allyson) of Danville; 9 grandchildren: Alicia Davis, Courtney Hardman, Gwen Davis, Trevor Hardman, Chloe Hardman, Conner Washburn, Madison Hardman, Paisley Hardman, and Brantley Lawson; and 4 great-grandchildren: Dash Matchett, Ada Davis, Griffin Miller, and Josephine Wineinger. She is also survived by a sister, Jane Bevins; 2 brothers: Ray Wilson and Virgil Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Jim Davis, Richard Hardman, and Warren
Gordon; 2 sisters: Lois Wells and Clara Wilson; brother, Bobby Wilson; stepsister, Bernice Watson; and stepbrother, Presley Haughee.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Barnes and Rice
Funeral Home, 111 East High Street, Rockville, Indiana. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Keith McIntyre officiating.
