With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara “Cookie” Domangue Hargrave, a beloved native and lifelong resident of Houma. She peacefully departed this life on Monday, March 10th, at the age of 81.
A Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 9 AM till time of the Celebration of Life Service beginning at 11 AM at Chauvin Funeral Home. Barbara's final place of rest will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray, LA
Barbara was a woman of deep faith and unwavering devotion to her family. She exemplified love, kindness, and the values of faith, instilling them in all who knew her. A cherished grandmother, she found immense joy in the company of her grandchildren and dedicated many years to teaching and volunteering at her church.
She had a passion for gardening, creating beauty with the flowers she lovingly tended. She found happiness in cooking for her family, sewing, and crafting, always using her hands to bring warmth and joy to those around her. She also loved sharing stories over a good cup of coffee, treasuring the simple moments of life.
Barbara’s presence brought light and love into the lives of so many, and her memory will forever be held in the hearts of her family and friends.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Manuel Hargrave; her cherished children, Heidi Keel (Lee), Darrin Hargrave, Trudy Cavaness (Daron), Shelley Hitt (Waco) and Cindi Bowen (Troy); her grandchildren, Dillan (Bethany), Shi, Zacharie (Tatum), Darrin Jr., Jason, Justin, Camille, Jordan, Evan, Austin, and Tyler; 3 great-grandchildren; fur baby Dudley the dog; siblings, Donald Domangue (Pat), and Karen Thibodeaux (Aubrey).
She is reunited in Heaven with her parents Camille and Wendover Domangue
