Barbara Hixson

1933 - 2025

Barbara Pinskey Hixson, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at Hillside Estates in Connellsville. Mrs. Hixson was born Jan. 8, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant to the late Bruno and Celia Liczbinsky Pinskey. Barbara was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School, class of 1951. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at Westmoreland Manor and various nursing homes in the area. She enjoyed going to the YMCA to swim and reading a good book. Barbara is survived by her loving sons, Bill Hixson, Dave Hixson (RaeAnn), and Tim Hixson (Toni); her grandchildren, Brennan, Kyler, Rebecca, Emily, and Josh; and her sister-in-law, Sally Hegedus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William J. Hixson, in 2002; by her brother, Gene Pinsky; and by her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Brothers Hixson. In honoring Barbara's wishes, there will be no hours of public visitation. Inurnment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. All arrangements have been entrusted to GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME INC., Mt.
