Barbara J. Hrody

Ms.Hrody was a great teacher. She was also cool. Always dressed in fashion ahead of her time. Who else remembers the ever present F&F cough drops.

Miss Hrody was a great teacher, she was my fifth grade teacher at Saint Simeons in Bellwood, one day in the early seventies miss Hrody and I ran in to each other on Bellwood Avenue in front of Sleepers drug store, I was driving my 1935 Chevrolet hot rod I had just finished, she loved my car and told me she was looking for something fun to drive, I brought her over to Kountys body shop on Saint Paul Avenue, Bill had some very cool cars for sale, she was a wonderful teacher and a car gal, RIP!

Miss Hrody was a teacher able to inspire. She encouraged good work and was able to say "you can do better" in a positive way. Reset in Peace Miss Hrody, you made a difference in mine and many other young lives.

Miss Hrody was my favorite teacher at St. Simeon´s and one of the reasons that I became a teacher. She was my 5th grade teacher in one of the mobile classrooms 1962-63. She touched so many lives during her career and I´m grateful to have been one of them. And she always had the most beautiful handwriting! RIP Miss Hrody.

I was lucky enough to have Miss Hrody not once but twice at St. Simeon in both the 5th and 7th grade. She was the best teacher I ever had! And we were all able to diagram a sentence thank to her! Thank you Miss Hrody. RIP!

I was once one of Ms Hrody's lucky students. Although I myself am now in my sixties, I have vivid memories of her classroom and all that she imparted to her students. Rest In Peace, Ms Hrody.

Miss Hrody was my favorite teacher. She gave me many "bookworm" awards-an orange wooden worm that she pinned to one´s uniform. She was kind and encouraging. Rest in Peace.

Ms. Hrody was my 4th grade teacher in 1959. She was the only non-nun I had at St. Simeon. I still recall how I looked forward to her every day and the praise she gave on a writing assignment. She took away my fear of writing.

A wonderful teacher and Tom Sellecks #1 fan. You taught me to believe in myself and I can never repay that gift.

Not only was Miss Hrody.. one of my teachers at St Simeon.. she also, was a great family friend. I recall her at a few parties at the house
