Barbara Jean Hutchinson, at the young age of 90, passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2025, to be with her Lord and Savior.
Barbara was born in Greenup, KY, to the late Don and Jewell (Creech) Leg. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, James Westly Hutchinson; her sons Donald K. and Mark T.; and her cherished granddaughters, Jamie Lee and Jessica Lee.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her sons, James K. (Diane) and David A.; her daughters, Karla R. (Mike) and Sharon R. (Stuart); 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Barbara’s devotion to her faith and her family was unwavering. She was always willing to lend a hand at church or support her children and grandchildren in any way she could. Her warmth lit up every room, and her smile radiated love and kindness.
She deeply missed her husband Jim and her sons, and we find peace in knowing they are now reunited.
Barbara found great joy in the simple pleasures of life — watching birds and hummingbirds in her yard, marveling at the wildlife that visited, and tending to her flowers and garden with love. She especially enjoyed walking the yard with David, admiring the blooms they planted together.
Barbara’s gentle spirit, joyful conversations, and unconditional love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
