With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Jensen on Wednesday February 25, 2026, in Advent Hospice, Orlando, Florida.
Barbara, or Barbie, was born on July 4, 1937, in Bradford, England, to Harry and Dorothy Cash. She was the eldest sister to Marguerita Thompson, Raymond Cash, and Stephen Cash. In 1956, Barbara emigrated to Toronto, Canada, a country she loved with all her heart until her last breath. On February 6, 1965, Barbara Cash married Bruce Eric Jensen, a devoted union and partnership which lasted until his passing on July 15, 2021.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Jillian Jensen, and son, Eric A. Jensen, his partner, Devin Shute, and three most beloved granddaughters, Chloe Alexandra, Siena Naomi and Leana Rose Jensen.
Bruce and Barbara built well-respected and impactful tropical plant and interior landscaping businesses in Canada and Apopka, Florida, which they operated for over 50 years. Barbara continued actively serving as President and CFO until two weeks before her passing at 88 years old. Her mind was as sharp as ever right to the very end.
Barbie was passionate about classical music, opera, and the performing arts. She was an accomplished pianist and never missed a showing of The Met at the Movies. She was equally passionate about traveling, having visited more than 60 countries and all seven continents. Barbie's most recent trip was to Finland, Lapland and Norway over Christmas 2025, where she particularly delighted in riding reindeer sleighs. Over the last four years, Barbie and Jillian have traveled together in over 17 countries.
Until 2025, Barbie served as the proud Administrator of a local Women in Horticulture group for 20 years. The friendships she made during this time were one of her greatest treasures. She will be sad to be missing the 2026 Formula 1 race season and weekends watching her favorite tennis players. Mostly, Barbie will be sad for not being able to spend this coming summer on her beloved farm in Newcastle, Ontario.
A visitation for Barbie will be held on Tuesday, March 3 from 3pm to 6 pm at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 East Semoran Blvd, Apopka, Florida. Family and freinds are invited to gather to honor and celebrate Barbie's joie de vivre, and share stories of her life and laughter. She physically will be missed forever, but will always be in the hearts of many.
