Rotterdam- Barbara A. Astemborski/Jones was born on March 28, 1951 to Rose and Chet Astemborski at Ellis hospital.
Barbara graduated from Schalmont high school in 1969 with honors. Barb went on to attend SUNY Potsdam, receiving a B.S. in science and math as well as a degree from SUNY Schenectady in business.
Barbara's last employment was at Excelsior college and retired with 13 years on June 9, 2016.
Barbara enjoyed watching “The Golden Girls", "Everybody Loves Raymond”, and "Deal or No Deal” on t.v.. Barbara also enjoyed family gatherings, short road trips into the country, and crossword puzzles.
Barb was married to her husband on August 12, 1993. Barbara is survived by her husband, Richard; sisters, Karen Astemborski and Dian Babbies; niece, Larissa Babbie; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers; please make contributions to community hospice of Schenectady.
A public visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York 12205 on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
At Barb's request, burial will be private with the family.
