In 2016, her heart for service led her on a missionary trip to Uganda, an experience that reflected her compassion and desire to bring hope and love to others.
Barbara was the strongest person many knew. Though she endured great hardship, she never wavered in her faith. She stood firmly for peace and happiness, offering light even in difficult times. Her beautiful, kind eyes reflected a soul full of grace, and her laughter was a melody that stayed with all who heard it. Her bright smile had the power to lift spirits and comfort hearts, and she touched countless lives through her warmth and love.
Purple, her favorite color, reflected her spirit-royal, gentle, and full of meaning. Barbara's legacy is one of faith, resilience, love, and compassion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her
Barbara's legacy lives on through her cherished children, Sarah (Tim) Meek, Attie Montgomery, and Jadon Montgomery. They were the pride and joy of her life, and she instilled in them the values of love, humor, and resilience. Her brother, James Kates Jr., will remember Barbara as a source of constant support and joy.
