Barbara Knight

ALBION- Barbara Ann Knight, 90, of Albion passed away Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. She was born September 29th, 1935, in China, Maine. Barb was the daughter of Elwood and Alice (Haskell) Knight.

Barb graduated from Besse High School in 1954. She was active in cheering, basketball, and softball. Her first job was with Warren M. Champlin Insurance Agency. She then moved to J. E McCormick & Son Farm Equipment, where she worked for 27 years. She retired on October 27th, 2000, from Hammond Tractor Company after 16 1/2 years with them. She loved helping local farmers find the parts they needed to repair their equipment.

Although she never married, Barb was a doting aunt who enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews of multiple generations. She was ready to spoil them all. No family gathering was complete without Barb's stories and laughter. Barb has a lifelong love of animals. She had many special furry friends over the years.

Barb was predeceased by her parents, her sister Carol Clark, brother-in-law Leslie (Pal) Clark, nephew Brian Clark, and special friends Faith (Hendsbee) Rankin. Linda (Nelson) Ayer, and Harvey Quimby.

She is survived by her niece Sandra Jonassen (Lars), nephew Steven Clark, and niece Cathy Clark (Sherri); great nieces and nephews, Kelly, Keith, Michelle, Michael, Melissa, and Jessica; and many great-great nieces and nephews.

Barb's family would like to thank Maine General Hospice for their help and guidance. Barb's desire to stay home and not go into a nursing home was made possible with the support of the hospice staff. Special thanks to Julie and Dawn for making Barb's journey easier.

At Barb's request, there will be no funeral service. There will be a graveside service in the spring at #4 Cemetery in Albion.
