Barbara Jane Koelln

Barbara Jane Koelln, 85, of West Chester PA, formerly of Weehawken and Cresskill, NJ, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday October 29th in 2023.

Born January 2, 1938, in Hoboken, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Rose (nee Tarantini) Davison. 

Barbara was a loving wife and best friend to William H. Koelln for 62 years, married in 1961.

She is survived by her husband William of 62 years, two sons, Ken of West Chester PA (wife Beth) and Ed (wife Carolyn) of Lakeville, PA and four grandchildren, Will, Andrew, Chase, and Lauren.

Barbara was a graduate of Weehawken High School, class of 1956, Jersey City State College in 1960 where she earned her bachelor’s degree, and Saint Peters college with a master’s degree in computer science.

She was a mathematics teacher at Roy W. Brown Junior High in Bergenfield, NJ where she met Bill at their first job in 1960.  She taught for 18 years at Cresskill Junior/Senior High School.

Barbara and Bill lived in Cresskill, NJ for 52 years before they moved to Hershey's Mill, West Chester, Pennsylvania in 2015. In 2022 they became residents of The Wellington at Hershey’s Mill.

She enjoyed reading, traveling with Bill, and attending Broadway shows with her friends. In retirement, Barbara became an accomplished sewer, constructing numerous quilts for her family.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend, and will be missed by all those individuals whose lives she touched.

We are forever grateful for the memories that Barbara bestowed upon us all.
